AT&T quietly begins selling LG Escape 2, and its curved display, for $179.99

AT&T has quietly begun selling the LG Escape 2. The previously unannounced mid-range smartphone has a 4.7-inch curved display and has a no-contract price of $179.99.

LG has finally released a follow-up to its mid-range LG Escape smartphone that launched in 2012. The LG Escape 2 went on sale a few days ago on AT&T's website for $179.99 without a contract. The listing shows a 4.7-inch smartphone with a curved display, much like the LG G Flex, and the Flex 2. The IPS screen has a resolution of 1280x720. Inside, there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz, along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There's also an 8MP rear camera and a 1MP front facing camera. It also has Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
The LG Escape 2 does have a couple of features for people who love to take quick photos on their smartphone. One allow users to tap on their subject on the display to take a picture, while selfie fans can raise their hand and make a fist toward the front facing camera for it to take a picture three seconds later.
In addition to the $179.99 no-contract price, AT&T is selling the LG Escape 2 for 99 cents with a two year contract. There's also the AT&T Next payment options which lets customers get the phone for $0 down and 20 monthly payments of $9 each with AT&T Next 12, 24 payments of $7.50 each with AT&T Next 18, or 30 monthly payments of $6 each with AT&T Next 24.
